Adventures #3

Clicking on the underlined photo titles will take you to the Geocaching.com page that describes the cache and gives you the coordinates to get there yourself.

Cabin at St. Marys Falls

Another little cabin in the mountains.  The cache was on the hillside behind the cabin.   Click here to see the caches hiding place.   You'll have to look closely at the rock pile to see part of a light green box.

Four Paws Geocache

This cache is so big it really couldn't be hiden in any traditional way.  This is the first 5 gallon bucket I have found.  The hiding spot was a little ways off the trail so it really wasn't in plain site

Palmer Ice Caves

We only looked for one cache this day because it was too much fun to climb around, over and under these boulders.  We spent an entire morning here.  There were numerous caverns underneath these boulders that we explored.  There was still a lot of thick ice from the stream that flows through the boulders.

Cavern Opening

This is one of the entrances to the cavern.  Its probably more like an exit as the water flows from the opening.  There were two caches at this location, one inside that we never found and one outside near this location.   And here is a good look from inside a cavern looking out

Paul Barclay Stash

This cache was on a large hilltop that had no trails.  We started from the bottom at a parking area and made our way up,  following the arrow on my GPS.  This cache was another 5 gallon bucket hidden in some bushes.  This Picture shows some of the items in this cache.

Signing the Log at Baby Bear 2

Here is Broderick signing the log book for Baby Bear 2 cache.  You can see the white painted ammo can at his feet.  This one was in a small park called Bear Creek.  This was a great day for us as we found five caches in five hours.  We even saw some Deer in the mountains.  I wish I had gotten a picture but one of our coolest finds was a Micro cache that was the size of one of those breath strip containers that had a small roll of paper inside for a log.  It was hidden underneath a lamp post in some bushes at the center island between three pavilions at a city park.   The real challenge was try to be inconspiciuos with so many people around.
